Fifteen years ago, Maggie transitioned from being a local independent artist and stay-at-home mom into opening her own chemical-free, high-detail cleaning company, House Heroes Services.

For over a decade, clients relied on her for an exceptional level of detail—how light reflected off surfaces, how dust moved, and how a space felt when it was truly clean.

But she was learning something deeper.

Maggie began to understand airflow—how particles move, settle, and resurface. She refined methods that didn’t just clean a home, but kept it cleaner longer, saving clients time, energy, and money.

Without realizing it, she was studying particulate pollution and Indoor Air Quality.

As her work expanded, so did her observations.

During large, deep cleans—where curtains were washed, walls and ceilings vacuumed, and every surface reset—something unexpected would happen. Shortly after, the cleaning team, including Maggie, would feel it:

 

• A heaviness in the chest.

• Days of exhaustion.

• Sometimes even a cold or flu.

• This wasn’t from harsh chemicals.

  • Just from "dust".

Her work naturally expanded into repairs, then into minor construction, waterproofing, and eventually mold.

Mold became a specialty—not just remediation, but long-term prevention and environmental control.

She began to see the home as a system.

So when Maggie was introduced to advanced purification technology like ActivePure® by Aerus, everything aligned. Her work evolved beyond cleaning and remediation into something broader—understanding and improving the environments people live within every day.

Maggie began training in air and water technologies by Aerus, and built relationships with organizations and partners focused on healthier indoor environments, including the U.S. Green Building Council and Environmental Working Group, along with trusted local trade partners. This made it possible to bring a fully integrated approach to Indoor Environmental Quality into the home.

In January 2026, Maggie founded SISÄ IEQ Solutions; A consulting and solutions company built to assess, understand, and improve the environments we live within - through advanced air and water technology, whole-home environmental strategy, and ongoing service and verification. SISÄ goes beyond emergency environmental services.

 

In fact SISÄ is more than a service.

SISÄ—the Finnish word for “inside”—is a way of thinking about the spaces we live in.Because we spend the majority of our lives indoors.And those environments should support how we feel, how we function, and how we recover.SISÄ exists to bring clarity to what’s often unseen—to remove overwhelm, restore trust, and create spaces that feel supportive, balanced, and aligned.

So that people can feel better in their homes, trust their environments, and live with greater energy, clarity, and ease.
